Project description

Made-to-measure shutters for every window and room

This Antwerp installation combines a corner window with a straight tilt-and-turn window. The shutters were designed as one continuous window finish, with 89 mm louvres, a central tilt rod, concealed hinges and a deep frame.

Two window sections forming one composition

With a corner installation, the horizontal lines and stiles on both sides must align. The panels can be used independently, but from inside the room they appear as one made-to-measure unit.

Deep frame for tilt-and-turn operation

The frame brings the shutters sufficiently forward to keep the window handle, opening position and tilt position usable. The required depth was measured for each window.

Cover strip to reduce direct light gaps

A cover strip reduces direct light entering through the joint. Complete blackout is not promised, but direct light can be significantly reduced.

89 mm louvres with a central tilt rod

The wide louvres give the corner installation a calm, balanced appearance. The central tilt rod distributes operation logically across the different louvre sections.

Opening sequence and accessibility

In a corner, one panel can affect the movement of the other. That is why the opening direction, sequence and space around the sofa were established before production.

Checking the shape, window function and operation together

At the installation handover in Antwerp, we check more than just the way the shutters look when closed. The window handle, tilt-and-turn operation, accessibility and movement of each shaped panel are also tested, so the unusual window shape remains both attractive and practical.

Frequently asked questions

Can shutters run beautifully around a corner?

Yes. The lines can be aligned, while each window section receives its own technically suitable panel configuration.

Why is a deep frame necessary?

It creates space for the window handle and tilt-and-turn movement, preserving the window’s original functionality.

Does a cover strip make the room completely dark?

No. A cover strip reduces direct light gaps, but shutters are a louvred product and do not provide complete blackout.
