Made-to-measure shutters for every window and room
The tilt-and-turn windows in this project needed to remain fully functional after the shutters were installed. That is why the black panels were not fitted flush to the windows, but set into extra-deep frames. This creates space for the window handle and both the tilt and turn positions.

Preserving the window’s functionality was the starting point
A shutter should not turn a tilt-and-turn window into one that can only remain closed. All positions were tested during the measuring appointment. The distance to the handle and window sash determined how far the shutter frame needed to project forwards.
Extra-deep frames as a technical solution
The deep frame creates a clear zone between the window and the shutter. This depth is not arbitrary: too little space blocks the tilt position, while unnecessary depth can make the shutter look heavy. The dimensions were therefore determined for each window.
89 mm louvres for a calm, balanced look
The 89 mm louvres give the black shutters fewer horizontal lines and a generous view through when open. The same proportions were used across all three window openings, creating a cohesive line throughout the room.
ClearView and concealed hinges
ClearView keeps the front free from a visible tilt rod. The concealed hinges support the clean, streamlined look. Both choices were used only where the panel, frame and direction of movement allowed this technically.
Installation with every position checked
After installation, the shutters and windows were tested again in both the turn and tilt positions. The panel gaps and louvre positions were also adjusted. This ensured that both the closed appearance and everyday use were checked.
Checking the shape, window function and operation together
At the installation handover in Arendonk, we look beyond the closed appearance. The window handle, tilt-and-turn positions, accessibility and movement of every shaped panel are also tested, ensuring that the unusual window shape remains both attractive and practical.

Frequently asked questions
Can a tilt-and-turn window remain fully functional?
Yes, provided the frame and panel direction leave enough space. The exact turn and tilt positions are checked during the measuring appointment.
Why is an extra-deep frame needed?
The frame brings the shutters forwards, preventing the window handle and sash from coming into contact with the louvres or panels.
Are concealed hinges always possible?
No. The panel dimensions, frame, material and available clearance determine whether a concealed hinge is technically suitable.
