Project description

Made-to-measure shutters for every window and room

For this wide window frontage in Turnhout, shutters on sliding rails were chosen. The 89 mm louvres and ClearView create a calm look across the long wall of windows, while the panels can be moved into a practical parking position.

Light control without a large opening radius

Why use rails for a wide window frontage?

Large hinged panels require considerable free space in the room. A rail system reduces the opening radius and allows the panels to be moved along the window wall.

Determining the parking position in advance

A rail solution only works well when it is clear where the open panels will be positioned. Columns, radiators, wall sections and furniture were therefore taken into account in the design.

89 mm louvres for a calmer look

Wide louvres create fewer horizontal lines across the length of the window wall. When open, they provide a spacious view through, while tilting the louvres controls direct sunlight and privacy.

ClearView across multiple panels

ClearView eliminates a row of visible tilt rods on the front. This is a significant visual advantage, particularly in a long installation.

Installing the rails straight and adjusting the panels

The ceiling line, floor and window depth were checked at multiple points. After installation, the movement, overlap and alignment of each panel were adjusted.

Adjusting and using the sliding system every day

After installation in Turnhout, the movement, overlap, stops and parking position of the panels are checked. The user is shown how to open and close them smoothly, ensuring the rail remains evenly loaded and the individual panels move smoothly past one another.

Frequently asked questions

Are shutters on sliding rails suitable for every wide glazed frontage?

Not always. There must be sufficient space for installation and parking, and the surface must be able to support the system safely.

Can the louvres be operated while the panels are on the rail?

Yes, with a suitable configuration, the louvres remain adjustable by section. The exact operation depends on the panel construction.

Is a floor rail always visible?

This depends on the system. During the measuring appointment, it is determined which top and bottom guides are technically required.
