One cohesive façade style throughout the home
Large and small windows do not need exactly the same panel size. By keeping the colour, louvre size and stile width consistent, the terrace and side elevations still form a cohesive whole.
Why aluminium outdoors
For an exterior application, stability, coating and maintenance are important. Aluminium was chosen as a sleek, robust material. The fixings and hinge points were tailored to the façade and window openings.
89 mm adjustable louvres
The louvres give the shutters their distinctive appearance and allow light control. The wide louvre size keeps the façade looking calm and suits both wider and narrower openings.
Black against brickwork and light façade elements
The black coating creates a clear contrast with the brickwork and the light elements of the home. As colour responds differently to sunlight outdoors than indoors, the choice was assessed in natural daylight.
Installation on different substrates
Each window opening was measured individually, taking the sill, façade plane and clearance for opening into account. After installation, the closing action and positioning were checked to ensure the shutters open and close neatly alongside the façade.
